Telecommunications for a  tribal people, Western Province, PNG

 The largest and least populated province, some would say the most remote parts of PNG, that is the Western Province, with swamplands to the south and high mountain peaks to the north, full with jungle and a river systems that stretches over 3000km in length, Stephen Rae and the Media Haus crew over a two year filming project, traveled by boat, helicopter, light aircraft, trekked and 4WD throughout the length of the province to create an investigative documentary two part series on the expectations and impacts of building a 58 tower telecommunication network. Financed by PNGSDP, Its aim, to bring  mobile phone and internet service for the first time to a tribal people. These photos are part of an extensive photographic library on the project and the people of Western Province by photograher Stephen Rae
